An actual talent show that has talent this year is The Voice. The Voice has stepped it up in the singing competition reality television world. It is the only show that doesn’t have outdated themed nights and actually tries to stay current and hip. Allowing songs that are relative today or hit classic that is still very popular and doesn’t give way to boring songs that we can’t remember like other shows on the air competing in the same market. It allows the singers to have input, rearrange songs and gives us a better idea of what type of music we would see in the future from the artist.
It was a hard two years starting out for the Voice in the U.S. But I think this year they have hit their stride. Giving the audience a hard choice almost from the word go with the live auditions this year and having a little bit of everything. This is the show to watch if you like the singing competitions because no one is bad and as of yet the only thing to vote on this years is who’s style you like more.
Unlike the X Factor format of outdated themes and songs that make young contestants look old. The X Factor cutting the good and keeping mostly the average too bad. Which any but one contestant on the X Factor, I could go see someone just as good at a karaoke bar. I actually find myself DVR-ing through most of all of the show.
Unlike the X Factor I find myself even watching the group performances from the contestants because most of them are even well thought out in performance and practice. They pick more to date songs and try to fit the contestants voice. Highlighting the type of music and how they would and will sound on an album you and me may buy in the future.
BRAVO! to The Voice, well done this year making almost every elimination from the beginning hard because of the true talent you have brought to your program. I would not want to see any of the contestants go from the show. The only negative from the show is you have to much great talent and have made it almost impossible to pick a favorite this year.
My suggestion is with the finals of The Voice coming up next week; it is the one to take the time to watch if you enjoy music and seeing unseen talent getting a chance.
