NASA has started to reach the edge of our solar system and is now getting ready to reach parts of the galaxy that has yet to be reached by any manmade object. Voyager 1 has reached the edge and is going to break through at any time between a few months from now to a couple of years. This little forgotten about space probe has been on a voyage that has exceeded all expectations. This announcement was made last week and was shadowed by the every growing news about the, “fiscal cliff.” Not only was this announcement made but several others which got little to no air time on the news.
One of the largest meeting of Earth Scientist known as the American Geophysical Union (AGU) happened just last week with a week of amazing discoveries and announcements being made. It all happened and there was little to no news coverage of the events. Other announcements and discoveries other than just Voyager 1 to name a few were: Astronauts could survive radiation levels on mars from reading of the Rover Curiosity, satellites could detect rouge nuclear test, NASA will build another mars rover for 2020 mission, unveiling a new photo of Earth, and much, much more.
